Can’t Wait to See the BabyHawk Mei Tais!
Tuesday, October 20th, 2009
I just placed an order for ten awesome Babyhawks and I CAN’T WAIT for them to get here! Babyhawks are a brand of mei tai carrier and are very popular among babywearers. Honestly, it took me forever to pick out ten. They have hundreds of options and you can customize your carrier in so many ways. And at first that sounds great, but quickly becomes overwhelming!
I’ve spent the last few days (well, weeks really) looking online at pictures of people wearing their Babyhawks to get a feel for popular colours and patterns. I think that I’ve picked ten that will look great and sell quickly. I’m hoping they’ll be here in three to four weeks, and I’ll post some photos of them once they arrive!
(Oh, I ordered some more FuzziBunz diapers today too, so if you’ve been checking out my selection and noticed that it seems sparse, don’t worry! I’ll have a new stash soon!)

Petition for a Tax Break on Cloth Diapers
Thursday, September 3rd, 2009
One of the first things I had planned on doing when I opened my cloth diaper store was to start a petition for a tax break on cloth diapers. Then I found out that other people had already started petitions and they did a beautiful job — the petitions are written far more eloquently than I would have done. So rather than start my own, I’m including a link to one by Happy Nappy Diaper Service. They started this past May and already have over 600 signatures!

It’s Official! Daisy Days will be at the Upcoming Hamilton’s Baby Expo
Friday, August 28th, 2009
The Hamilton Baby Expo is being put on by Social Mamas and My Smart Hands Hamilton, with all proceeds going to Ronald McDonald House. Its a great cause, and I’m so pleased to be a part of this event!
Even better: I will be sponsoring the Breastfeeding Room/Changing Area, which is fantastic. I still breastfeed my daughter (yeah, if she has her way, she’ll be nursing for the next seven years), and I’m thrilled to support other women as they nurse their babies.
And EVEN BETTER: I will be giving workshops on cloth diapering and babywearing. Woohoo! I think this is going to be an awesome day!
For information on the expo, such as when and where, check out www.hamiltonbabyexpo.ca.

More Happy Heinys on the way!!
Sunday, August 23rd, 2009
I’ve just placed an order for more Happy Heinys — hopefully they’ll be here before the Locke Street Festival. (Last time they sat at customs for weeks!) I’m so happy at how well they’ve been selling, although I’m not surprised… they are so easy to sell. Who doesn’t want a cute, soft diaper that grows with your child?
As soon as they come in, I’ll post an update here in the blog. Just a note — if you are looking for a specific colour that you don’t see in my store, please send me an email, as I can easily order them for you!

Knitted Diaper Covers
Friday, August 21st, 2009
At the Festival of Friends, I had a few people ask if I sell diaper covers. I am currently looking into carrying some (and if you have any recommendations, I’d love your input!). I came across some REALLY nice wool diaper covers, but they seem pretty expensive, and, being a knitter, I figure it would be cheaper to make them myself.
I thought I’d start a list of patterns here, in case you’re interested too:
