I love the look of little waldorf dolls, and I’ve been thinking of making one for my daughter for her birthday. The most popular site online for buying kits seems to be Joy’s Waldorf Dolls, so I went to their site to pick out a kit. I guess Joy has decided to retire, and everything is on sale at 30% off! So one hand, I’m thrilled to get a deal, but on the other, I feel like I should stock up on supplies which is just silly because I wouldn’t even know what I’d need! Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know about the sale in case this is a project that interests you!

I bought my first sling, a wrap, from a wonderful girl named Cassandra at Panda Pouch. She had me and Rowan come to her house and try on different slings. When we decided the wrap would work best for us (Rowan loved it right from the start), she took the time to show me different ways to wrap it, and then patiently helped me as a tried it a few times myself. It was Cassandra’s help that got me hooked on babywearing.
Cassandra since sold Panda Pouch, and recently the new owners decided to sell it as well. Can you guess where this is heading?
Well, I’m THRILLED to announce that Daisy Days will be taking over for Panda Pouch. All of the great slings and pouches from Panda Pouch can now be purchased through Daisy Days, with the same excellent level of customer service that Cassandra gave me. Check out PandaPouch.com to see the selection, and let me know if you have any questions at all.

I cannot believe how quickly the Beco Baby Carriers have sold!! I’ve placed a new order today, so hopefully I should have more in the next few weeks. Right now I only have the Carnival print in stock, but if you like one of the ones on order, let me know and I can notify you as soon as it arrives.

One of the first things I had planned on doing when I opened my cloth diaper store was to start a petition for a tax break on cloth diapers. Then I found out that other people had already started petitions and they did a beautiful job — the petitions are written far more eloquently than I would have done. So rather than start my own, I’m including a link to one by Happy Nappy Diaper Service. They started this past May and already have over 600 signatures!

I LOVE BabyLegs — I’m so excited to carry these. Honestly, I thought they were a bit silly when I first saw them — legwarmers for babies? But then I realized how practical they are, not to mention SUPER SWEET!
When you wear your baby, there pants often ride up so there teeny legs are exposed. In cooler weather, BabyLegs keep their legs covered and warm. In warmer weather, BabyLegs keep their legs protected from the sun.
I can’t wait to get these. They should be here in a couple weeks, I think, so check back to see the awesome ones that I picked. Or come by my booth at the Locke Street festival — fingers crossed that they come in time for that!!
Well, I’m off to place my order!
Hurray!

The Hamilton Baby Expo is being put on by Social Mamas and My Smart Hands Hamilton, with all proceeds going to Ronald McDonald House. Its a great cause, and I’m so pleased to be a part of this event!
Even better: I will be sponsoring the Breastfeeding Room/Changing Area, which is fantastic. I still breastfeed my daughter (yeah, if she has her way, she’ll be nursing for the next seven years), and I’m thrilled to support other women as they nurse their babies.
And EVEN BETTER: I will be giving workshops on cloth diapering and babywearing. Woohoo! I think this is going to be an awesome day!
For information on the expo, such as when and where, check out www.hamiltonbabyexpo.ca.

I’ve just placed an order for more Happy Heinys — hopefully they’ll be here before the Locke Street Festival. (Last time they sat at customs for weeks!) I’m so happy at how well they’ve been selling, although I’m not surprised… they are so easy to sell. Who doesn’t want a cute, soft diaper that grows with your child?
As soon as they come in, I’ll post an update here in the blog. Just a note — if you are looking for a specific colour that you don’t see in my store, please send me an email, as I can easily order them for you!
